Evie  is a wonderful dog. She is a lower energy mal, needing a few sessions of ball throwing, and walks (she does like to jog but don’t count on more than 2.5 miles haha). She, and peers, were rescued by the police and a rescue group from a terrible situation in which a person who claimed to be a trainer was abusing and neglecting dogs. She knows German and English basic commands, . She has the potential to learn anything and will study you quietly to learn your body language and routine. She is 100% house trained, and can stay unattended in a home without a crate as long as she has access to a yard or has a buddy to play with. She is a bit nervous in crates (she spent the first part of her life neglected in one...understandable she isn’t too keen on them) but she will stay in one fine and will be super happy to be out at the earliest convenience. She NEEDS male dog friends to play with, loves and craves playtime- she will even play with cats that let her!! She does not get along with alpha females. She is not good around kids under 10, they move too fast and unpredictably. She plays a bit too hard with her fragile older brother who has hip dysplasia and bad knees. Combined with her mom’s work schedule shifting in response to the pandemic to 10+ hour days for what will probably be months?? She needs a home where she has a younger durable play pal and an owner that can be around a bit more often. She can be shy at first but love you unconditionally once she lets down her guard.
