ADOPTION INFORMATION
If you have not owned a Belgian Malinois before please make sure this is the breed for you by doing your research. This is not a breed for everyone so be realistic in assessing your ability to provide for a malinois.
We do not adopt out on a "first come, first served" basis. Our final objective is to make good matches between dogs and families to ensure lifelong adoptions. Adoption requires filling out an application, having your references checked and a home inspection completed by one of our ABMR volunteers. Adoption Application links are provided in each dog's description. Please fill out only one (1) application even if you are interested in a couple of different dogs. Filling out more than one application will slow down your application's processing.

** Due to increased volume of applications please expect a minimum of 3 weeks for processing.
Our malinois are:
- spayed/neutered prior to adoption
- up to date with vaccines
- microchipped
- heartworm tested
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Transportation help for adoptions can be arranged but the adopting family must meet transport 1/2 way.
A fully processed ABMR application will require 2 personal references to be interviewed, 1 vet reference to be interviewed, and a home visit to be conducted. A video home visit will be conducted when necessary for location or health and safety concerns.

FOSTER INFORMATION
There are several different types of dogs in need of foster care. Some are in need of medical attention such as heartworm treatment or recovery after surgery. Others are shy and can benefit from one-on-one attention in a loving foster home. Our foster homes teach them the basics of leash walking and indoor living so that they will be prepared for adoption. ABMR pays for all pre-approved medical expenses.
Please understand that our dogs come from a variety of situations. Some are house-trained, others need help learning. Some walk well on a leash and some have never walked on leash before. With love and understanding our foster homes help our dogs heal and prepare for their new life.
