Amarillo (also called Amy) is one of the Austin 7 puppies that came into
rescue in August 2019. Amarillo was fostered with three of her
siblings, and was adopted by the foster home. In the last month,
Amarillo has decided she wants to be the head of the females in the
household, and has turned her attention on moving up the ladder by
selecting one female to overpower in her move upward.
Amarillo is 10 months old (they were given the birthday of June 30), she
is very people friendly, and learning obedience. She knows sit, down,
wait, paws up (as seen in the photo with her feet on a rock), crate, she
is working on heeling. She is housebroken, goes into her crate
willingly, and is very quiet in her crate and travels well in the car.
She is AKC registered as a Canine Partner and that can be transferred to
her new adopter/owner. She is ready to earn her CGC and Trick Dog
titles, but with show cancellations, that will have to wait.
She is very loving, likes to be petted, likes grooming (brushing) and is
not bothered with nail trimming, but is not a snuggler. She has a lot of
energy so should not go to a home with small children but would love to
play with kids 10 yrs or older. Definitely no female dog in the home,
but dominate male dogs are ok.
Amarillo is UTD on shots, on HW prevention, and is spayed. She is
approximately 22" at the shoulder and weighs 50 lbs (she should not gain
any further weight, but may grow another inch yet.)
