Meet ABMR Dutchess!  She is a sweet, 3 yr old spayed female looking for her forever home!  Overall, she is a very nice dog that would do well in a first-time Mal-owner home as long as they had some experience with herding/working breeds.   Dutchess very focused and smart—she picks up things quick and is extremely biddable!  She will cock her little head and actually hold her breath when you talk to her! She doesn't want to miss anything!

Her fosters describe her as “quirky but fun and pretty laid back most of the time”.  Duchess is very loving and affectionate with her family and seeks out attention.  She is accepting of strangers with appropriate introductions.  Dutchess can be intense at times and is very focused on small dogs and cats and farm animals and probably should not be placed with those.  She does have pretty high prey drive although overall drive is moderate.  She will settle nice in the house or her crate—although she would prefer to snuggle on the sofa with her family!   She likes to play and is good with similar sized and larger dogs, but prefers male dogs over females.  While she did not care much for baths, she does like to jump and play with a water hose.  Dutchess has basic obedience and walks well on a leash.  She is house trained.  Fenced in yard preferred due to her prey drive.  She can be placed in a home with dog-savvy children over 7 yrs.
