About Ziva - FL | |
|
|
Ziva is a sweet senior girl who came into rescue on 9/3/21. She is currently being fostered in Orlando, FL.
Ziva loves to play fetch. Throw her Kong for 10 minutes throughout the day and she's happy. Ziva also enjoys leash walks and bonding with her human. Her favorite treat is Cheerios. She is also known to "want to answer the phone by speaking to anyone that calls".
Riding in cars makes Ziva a little nervous, as does thunder storms. She has some basic obedience, but could use a refresher course.
Ziva is a high energy typical toy loving mal. She bonds quickly and is great with kids. Even though she is 9 years old her energy level exceeds that of a younger mal. She likes to go out and run and play fetch multiple times a day. If she doesn't she almost looks like she will explode.
Through no fault of her own, she does not do well with other dogs; she was not socialized when she was young and unfortunately it has affected her ability to get along with others. She is very protective of any toy and her human and will guard them with all her might from any other animal. If she is outside and other dogs walk by she does not pay attention to them she only focuses on her human and her Kong. She has a normal prey drive so would not be good with cats either. She is very well behaved and obedient. She understands basic commands and is house trained. She is a velcro mal in the fact that she will stay close to you but does not demand pets or affection her main driver is her Kong. She does suffer from mild storm anxiety but it manifests as shivers and wanting to stay close to her human. She does like to answer the phone, she will get whiney when she hears one ring or vibrate and will want to talk then will settle down. She loves to chew and gnaw on her toys (and only her toys) and because of it has almost no teeth as they have been worn down from gnawing that does not stop her from eating regular food or finding a way to bite her toys. That toothless smile is one of the best parts about Ziva.
Since Ziva is showing reactivity to other dogs in her foster home, it's probably best if Ziva goes to a home with no other pets.
