Ready for adoption!  ABMR Jospeh Seaweed, AKA “Weed” was one of 101 neglected dogs of various breeds pulled from a hoarding situation in KY.  Weed is about 4-5 yrs old, neutered and up to date with all vetting.  In spite of the fact that he lived his entire life tired to a tree up to recently, Weed is making up for lost time and is loving his new life!  All he needs now is his own forever family.  Weed is friendly and social towards people and enjoys affection.  He is learning about walking nice on a leash and things like “sit” and “down”.  It’s all so new to Weed, but he is super smart and loves food and treats!!  He’s still learning about toys—he never had anything to play with before other than the chain that secured him to the tree and maybe a few rocks.  Due to that, Weed’s teeth are pretty worn, but the vet feels that these are not any real issue for him.

Weed is crate trained and is mostly quiet unless he thinks he’s missing out on some fun.  He’s doing well with house training.  He’s been exposed to cats and horses and did not have too much interest, so he can go to a home with savvy cats with supervision.  While he’s not shown any aggression, a home without young children is advised because he still does have some anxiety at times.  The world is all so new to him and can be scary sometimes.  A fenced in yard is recommended. 

Weed is good with other dogs, but can be dog-selective with other males.  He would be better with another female dog and does love to play!

Weed is currently in Indiana but there is reasonable assistance with transportation.
