Meet King! King is approximately 3.5 years old and right around 60lbs.

He was rescued from a kill shelter mid December and has had a pretty rough go of it. The first three years of his life he was constantly chained up in a yard and has the scars on his neck to prove it. Nobody ever taught this sweet boy how to be a pet. Even with that, he's housebroken and can take cues from other dogs, even if they are just 9 pounds!!

His current fosters have seen TONS of improvement in the home in the short time they've had him. He is classic Mal with lots of energy and love to give. In the right environment he's going to be stellar active companion or sport dog. He just needs to be shown how!

Pros

-High food and toy drive

-Good at the vet, he got nothing but high praise from the Vet after his extended stay there. He's very sweet.

- Loose leash walking CHAMPION. Seriously, for 4-5 miles he walks right beside you. It's amazing.

-Running champion as well, he has gone on runs anywhere from 2 to 5 miles and runs right beside you and loves the activity.

-Cuddle bug, loves to lean into his person and get pets, and if you're on the sofa he WILL try to climb into your lap.

-Quick to learn! His fosters have been teaching him settle and other basic commands and he picks things up quickly.

- No food or toy reactivity to other dogs that his current fosters have seen.

Cons

-Bull in a China shop! 60lbs of muscle and he does tend bump into things from time to time.

- He doesn't love his crate and needs to be lured in kibble for the time being but it has improved. He typically will bark for 10-15 minutes then settles in quite nicely.

-He can show a little guard of his toys with humans. HOWEVER he quickly learned the game "trade" and it has since been a non issue.
