If Maggie had one word to describe her, it would be “jovial.”
Maggie would make an amazing adventure dog or active pet. She travels well and likes new people and new things.
Maggie is a happy, sociable, adaptable girl. She is adjusting from life as a breeding dog living in a run. She was well fed with access to safe shelter and water, but didn’t have a lot of other life experiences outside of raising her 40 puppies over the last 4 years.
She likes people and has been good with various dogs of of different breeds, ages, and intact status. She would likely chase chickens. Cats are unknown.
She has learned to like and work for food since she has been in foster.
She still show little to no interest in toy play. On occasion she will pick up a tug and start to shred and shake it, so I think her play drive could be worked on. She will play with a person in a “rough house” fashion. She *loves* to chew on raw bones and frozen, food-stuffed rubber toys.
She’s been slowly transitioning from a kennel dog to an in-home dog with multiple dogs. She’s good in the house, but still is a bit pacey and unsure of what to do. She’s learning to settle. She has not been allowed the freedom to have an accident in the house, and is working on learning to ask to go outside. She is crate trained and is super clean in the crate.
She seems super adaptable, but would likely do best with calm, positive feedback for good behavior. She’s soft and a bit nervous about harder vocal “corrections,” even if directed at another dog. She’s equally responsive to positive feedback.
Kids are unknown, but she has enjoyed every adult she has met so far. Cats are unknown, but she will kill chickens if not supervised with them.
