Hi!  My name is Ella and I am an 18 month old princess ... I mean Malinois.  I came into rescue when my family surrendered me to a shelter.  It was very scary in the shelter so I was so ecstatic when I was rescued!

My foster family lives in Massachusetts and staying here is kind of like being at camp!  I get to go for hikes and play ball (although I don't always bring toys back when I play).  I am also making new friends (both canine and human) and have a blast running around with the other dogs.

My foster mom says that I am a love bug and a velcro girl because I just can't close enough to my humans.  

My foster family has been awesome - they are schooling me on all kinds of things.  For instance, when I came to them, I had no idea how to behave properly in a crate but they have patiently shown me that it is a safe place.  I am learning basic commands like sit and down and how to walk nicely on leash.  I am practicing how to ignore other dogs when we are on a walk - as I sometime get a little amped up when I see other dogs when I am on leash.

I love to go for rides in the car.

I am sometimes not sure about things and can get startled when people move too quickly.  When startled, I can react by being mouthy. 

I am most comfortable in an environment that is not hectic or chaotic so my coordinator said that I will not be placed in a home that has children.  

If I were to 'picture' my perfect forever family, they would be the kind of 'parents' that have the time and drive to continue my training and also continue to work on building my confidence. They would enjoy walking, hiking, and running and maybe even take me to do nose work or barn hunts or tracking as I love to use my nose.   It would be the kind of home that wants me to become part of the family.  The home would have a fenced in yard where I would always be supervised while out because I am very athletic and could jump a fence.  It would be awesome if my forever family had another friendly dog.  Oh, and no children under the age of 16.
