Sid is a 1 year old Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd.

1)     Love to play and go for car rides

2)     Favorite toy is anything that even resembles a ball (tennis ball, basketball, soccer ball – doesn’t matter)

3)     His favorite activity is playing fetch

4)     He is a very sweet, loving, affectionate and playful puppy

5)     His favorite treat is apples and will do anything for them. He also loves blueberries, carrots, tomatoes and lettuce

6)     He loves to run and be outside. He needs daily exercise

7)     He has been through a local K9 training program and responds well to numerous commands including sit, stay, lay down, off and place (which he remains until “broken”)

8)     Sid is friendly with people but is weary of strangers at first. His protective instinct is first and foremost with strangers.

9)     Sid gets along great with other dogs including our 3 year old male Belgian Tervuren and a 16 year old female lab. They even share food and water bowls without issue.

10)  Sid has been neutered and is up to date on all shots. He is boarded regularly.

11)  He is a very smart dog and has been able to open cages that were not actually locked. He can unlatch them in a matter of seconds.

12)  Sid cannot go to to a home with children under the age of 16.  He  recently bit (not severely) a 12 year old girl that was hitting him in the face. After that he began to attempt to dominate our 13 year old son and recently bit him. Neither incident required any medical attention but it is best that he does not go to a household with children.

13)  Sid does not currently do well in a cage and is on anti-anxiety medication (Trazadone) prescribed by our veterinarian. If he is left free when we are not home he does fine and does not destroy or damage our house. It is only when he is confined that he becomes anxious.

14)  Our family loves him greatly but our current situation requires a new home.

15)  He is currently in a shelter but needs to be re-homed by May 30^th. The humane society stated that they will not re-home him and he will be euthanized if he does not find a new home by May 30th.

16)   Sid is a great, loving puppy and is a sweet loving dog. He needs a strong leader with patience and structure.
