Rebel is a 2 year old tall and lanky Malinois. (August 2021) He is a very handsome boy who thrives with structure. He is housebroken, and crate trained, although he is now trustworthy loose in the home for several hours at a time, provided there are no temptations left on the counter. Rebel sleeps quietly on a dog bed in the bedroom overnight, but he will ask to sleep in the bed with his humans as well. He loves loves loves to hike, and walks politely on a leash. Rebel would be thrilled to accompany a runner on their daily jog. Rebel does not wish to live with male dogs, and can be quite a bully with them. He does enjoy roughhousing with a female dog similar in size, but sometimes has a hard time coming back to neutral after rough play with her. He has ball drive for days, and will play fetch for hours. Think energizer bunny…the human wears out before he does. He loves soft toys a bit too much and will resource guard them. Rebel is incredibly affectionate once he feels comfortable. In fact, he loves very hard and will slam against your legs in greeting on his hind legs and then slide down your body to to ground and offer his belly for rubs. He bonds strongly with his person, and has shown himself to have an occasional Velcro side, although he is an independent dog. Rebel ignores cats when on leash, but is extremely interested when off, so it’s best he does not live with cats. He has been working hard on gaining all the skills to earn his “CGC”, and would love to gain that title, and maybe more, with a person that he can call his own. . We prefer the home be fenced as he’s pretty athletic and needs room to just be a dog.  He loves to play ball, and will chase as long as you can throw.  He is house and crate trained.  Very toy/food/reward motivated and Rebel is super smart and loves to learn and to please!   This is a nice dog that needs a home that will give him an outlet for his energy and help him to thrive!    Application for Rebel:   https://malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=5733
