Piper, located in MA. She is a 9 month old female and is ready for a fur-ever home and humans to love. She is a 49 pounds, sweet, healthy, short coated, very affectionate and is a lot of fun. She is great with other dogs but CANNOT live with cats. She likes to run and play fetch and will entertain herself with a toy. She has high food and toy drive, knows the basic obedience commands (sit, down, stay, come, leave it) and crates well in the house and vehicle. She respects a 4 foot fence and does not charge a gate to escape. She loves praise, really wants to please and loves to cuddle once she knows you. She takes a while to warm up to strangers but then you are her buddy forever. Piper needs someone who will commit to continuing her obedience and giving her established boundaries.

Due to her age, high energy level and lack of basic training and of socialization as a puppy, Piper still needs a good deal of work to become the perfect canine companion. During the period of transition to her new environment, her future foster or adopter will have to continue reinforcing her housebreaking, allow her to acclimate to her new home, and ensure that any introductions (canine or human) are slow and stress free. She also will try to pick up and quickly swallow and loose objects handy(socks, dish cloths, etc.) so she must be monitored initially as is she is a small puppy. The bonus is that this is a dog that thrives on pack structure and is very willing to please which is strengthened as a bond with her is established. She will require a lot of training and boundary setting initially but the outcome will be worth the extra effort as she is an incredible pup.

Piper needs someone who will commit to continuing her obedience and giving her established boundaries.
