Arkansas. I can’t believe this amazing dog has not gotten applications! Like his namesake, ABMR RedBull is full of energy, stamina, and drive. He is a LOT of dog, but has a very nice temperament so far and is social/neutral with others. He has nice focus on his handler. He is good with other dogs and he LOVES to play. Small dogs are not recommended due to his prey drive and hard play style although he has not shown any aggression towards small dogs. He does want to chase the cat in his home though, and while he can be redirected, cats are not recommended for him.
RedBull is a bit of a bull in a China-shop sort of guy, and takes his world by storm! He has very balanced drives, loves to play, loves toys and his ball drive is actually higher than his food drive, although he's never one to turn down an offer of a snack! RedBull is crate trained So far, he seems very promising for performance, detection, and maybe even SAR! He pretty much rocked initial hunt drive testing (see video)! He's pretty much a blank slate with nothing but potential and still young enough to train!
Red is social/neutral to other dogs although he does like to play. He is social/neutral to properly introduced people. He bonds very close with his handler and is very biddable. He is environmentally stable and travels well in a car. He has high prey drive and has been a blast to train!
RedBull will need an experienced handler, and while a fenced in yard would be ideal for him, the right, experienced adopter should be able to meet his needs for training and exercise without a fence, so we will look at applications on a case by case basis. He would be able to easy jump most fences if unsupervised and bored. He is a flight risk, and is very curious about his world and we can see him wanting to go exploring on his own. A no-child home is also preferred, but with experienced adopters and a savvy child over 10, this could be managed. Red has not shown any aggression but is a LOT of dog and his very high prey drive. He is crate trained and is clean and behaved in his crate.
As per ABMR regulations, RedBull is not a candidate for bitework. We are looking for a forever home for him with an individual rather than placement with a department or training facility. He will need a job that keeps him busy and is not a weekend warrior. He will settle and does have an off switch and overall, is not a overly complicated dog. Very, very promising young dog! Transportation assistance available.
RedBull was a stray and is now in an experienced foster home. Like his namesake, he is full of energy, stamina, and drive. Odie is social/neutral to other dogs although he does like to play. He is social/neutral to properly introduced people. He bonds very close with his handler and is very biddable. He would probably walk through fire for his person. He is environmentally stable. He has super high prey drive. VERY high prey drive and has been a blast to train!
RedBull would not be safe with cats/small dogs due to his prey drive. He will need an experienced handler, and while a fenced in yard would be ideal for him, the right, experienced adopter should be able to meet his needs for training and exercise without a fence, so we will look at applications on a case by case basis.
