About Finn - MS | |
|
|
1 year old Finn is a diamond in the ROUGH. He had a bad start to life being tethered outside, mistreated, and not fed – but he is now looking to live his BEST LIFE with his person. Finn is enjoying his first time in a house and loves it. He especially enjoys the doggy door and being able to run freely around his back yard.
Finn bonded with his foster mom quickly, and he will form a strong bond with his person that spends time with him, has patience and gives him all the love and attention he craves. He is now at a proper weight of 56 pounds from the 40 pounds he was found in! Finn has not been exposed to anything other than being tethered and mistreated, so everything is new – riding in a car, toys, inside the house, kindness. Finn is a blank slate that bonds quickly and strongly to his person but is going to need someone with patience to teach him about having his best life and to work through any issues from his past. He will need slow, controlled introductions to both people and dogs, due to his past mistreatment. But he very much wants to be loved and learns quickly that life is not scary.
Finn shows every indication of being a typical active, loving, Velcro Malinois that needs a loving home that will set boundaries in a positive environment. He is in a house with 3 other dogs (male and female Mals and Australian Cattle dog) and gets along fantastically with them and lends them on merry chases and has wrestling contests! He has shown with proper introduction that he can learn to play with other dogs not in the home like the fosters neighborhood roaming un-neutered male dog.
Moderate play and prey drive. He loves his Chuckit & Tennis balls and Jolly balls & tug.
No cats.
Finn will need slow introductions to other people. Vehicles are a reactive/fear trigger so he is reactive to moving vehicles on the road and will need to travel in a crate in the car until he realizes they are not threats. He is doing excellent in his crate training in the house and travel. Much of the physical abuse of Finn was to his face so some of his canine teeth are broken.
Of course, that does not stop him from “clacking” his teeth when he wants you to give him something, especially his ball – you just have to listen closely to hear it! Finn especially enjoys playing with his Mal sister but he understands down time and will rest next to you when working or watching tv.
