Odie was a stray from  from KCK Animal Services 

Work/Performance Prospect!  ABMR Odie Stu!  DOB estimated  1/20/22 and currently about 65lbs.  Newly neutered.

We often wonder sometimes how such amazing dogs like Odie end up in Rescue but a dog like Odie would be a disaster in the wrong hands.  He is a LOT of dog!  He is an amazing dog!  His foster adores him and feels he would be a great detection/HRD candidate and would rock at just about any performance sport!

Odie is social/neutral to other dogs although he does like to play.  He is social/neutral to properly introduced people.  He bonds very close with his handler and is very biddable.  He would probably walk through fire for his person.  He is environmentally stable.  He has super high prey drive.  VERY high prey drive and has been a blast to train!

Odie would not be safe with cats/small dogs due to his prey drive. He will need an experienced handler, and while a fenced in yard would be ideal for him, the right, experienced adopter should be able to meet his needs for training and exercise without a fence, so we will look at applications on a case by case basis. A no-child home is also preferred, but with experienced adopters and a savvy child over 10, this could be managed.  Odie has not shown any aggression but is a LOT of dog and his very high prey drive.  He is crate trained and is clean and behaved in his crate.

As per ABMR regulations, Odie is not a candidate for bitework.  We are looking for a forever home for him with an individual rather than placement with a department or training facility.  He will need a job that keeps him busy and is not a weekend warrior.  He will settle and does have an off switch.  Very, very promising young dog!
