Fiona was rescued at the approximate age of 1.5 years from a euthanasia list at a shelter where she was picked up as a stray. She was very social with other dogs, and she was climbing out of a 6 ft. enclosure to seek out playmates.

Once in rescue, we learned she was heartworm positive. She has since undergone treatment and is now ready for her forever home. She is approximately 2 years as of 01/26/2025. 

Fiona is a people pleaser who loves to snuggle. She was underweight when she came into rescue and has filled out nicely. She is very food and toy motivated. Her foster reports that her basic obedience has come a long way, and she follows commands sit, down, stand, stay, and come. She is a fast learner, and Fiona absolutely loves her toys and the water. Her foster believes she could be a great fly ball, agility, or dock diving prospect with a gentle handler.

Fiona does tend to cower if a voice is raised, so she will need a patient but firm human to bring out her best. She becomes very excited around children. While she enjoys them, her size, prey drive, and activity level is not suitable for a home with young children. 

Though she respects the fence at her foster's home, she is always supervised and accompanied by other dogs. Fiona will need constant supervision even in a fenced area. 

Fiona is crate trained and leashed trained. She does pull a bit on her leash when excited, but with some work, this can be overcome. She also enjoys car rides.
