Cooper is a vibrant and intelligent one-year-old male Belgian Malinois who has found himself in rescue through no fault of his own or his previous owners. This energetic young pup is eager to learn and thrives on both food and toy motivation.

Having been off-leash with an electric fence his whole life, Cooper has not yet learned proper leash manners, but his eagerness to please and sharp mind make him a fantastic training candidate. Weighing in at 55 lbs and up-to-date on vaccinations, he is a healthy and happy boy ready for his next adventure.

During his evaluation, Cooper demonstrated excellent obedience, patiently waiting in a down-stay until his owner gave him permission to greet. When he was given the command, he happily approached with enthusiasm, making great eye contact to seek attention. He is very tolerant of handling, allowing full-body petting, ear and teeth checks, and even handling of his paws without issue.

Cooper has outstanding recall, returning to the evaluator for more affection after short breaks. His play drive is high, and he was thrilled with the squeaky toy, but he also showed great impulse control, willingly releasing the toy on command. His food drive is strong—while not food-aggressive, he does need some work on gently taking treats.

This bright and eager boy has immense potential and would thrive with an active owner who can provide structure, training, and plenty of engagement. With the right guidance, Cooper will undoubtedly grow into a well-mannered and devoted companion. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, and driven Malinois to join your family, Cooper might be the perfect fit!
